Editing 360 videos on linux

Hi!

I have a macbook but it’s too slow to edit video. I have another desktop with Ubuntu Linux which I use to edit videos from another action cam with Kdenlive software.

I realize that I have to use 360Fly software to convert videos from spherical do equirectangular, but I would like to do all workflow on Linux.

There’s any tips, steps, worflow to edit video on linux?

Use ffmpeg for Linux. That is all they use to convert the videos in Director

G’Day,

I use Blender to add logos, text and edit video in spherical or equirectangular in Ubuntu 16.04.

I still use Director for conversion between spherical and equirectangular in windows (I haven’t investigated linux conversion thoroughly yet)

Looks great. Do you have an HD or 4k model? We have both the Yuneek EGO and the Boosted boards here in the office. They work great for lunch runs.

Thanks. The camera is the HD. Unfortunately I’m the poor sap who sits behind the computer butchering video, whilst my mate has all the fun riding the board.

Thanks to andypeacock’s videos I have worked out how to add a logo to the black void using blender aswell. Basically the same process, just a little trial and error in aligning the logo to the top of the screen.

I stopped a while, but came back now. The workflow I’m following now is:
1 - edit video spherical in Kdenlive (as much as possible)
2 - using a windows machine or macbook to convert to equirectangular
3 - finish in Kdenlive with audio, watermark, etc.

I use Ubuntu and have this - great 360 editing suite Pano2VR
